Connecting our community through a shared
heartbeat
In a world fueled by its diversity, dance has the power to reach across identities. Through outreach in our Madison community, we aim to unite through the arts. Because even with our varying backgrounds and stories, we cannot ignore the rhythm we feel in our hearts. At our core, we are all connected.
Through outreach, we bridge the gap
In an effort to promote appreciation and access to ballet, as well as develop a stronger, more empowered Madison, we develop fluid, approachable, and relevant arts programming for our community and its organizations.
We are always looking to connect with new partners! Introduce your group to dance with an outreach event or series tailored to your unique needs and population. To get started, please email hello@madisonballet.org. In the event of a public program, all updates will be posted as news here.
ACCESS
Dance for ALL
These special performances create a safe, welcoming, and flexible space for ALL people to experience the magic of dance for free. We remove the barriers between our community and dance with special accommodations like sensory kits and audio descriptions.
Dream Camp
This three-day program for children ages five to eight answers the question: “Where does WISDOM come from?” We explore and problem solve through musical styles and cultures, including classical and contemporary ballet and traditional West African dance and music.
ENGAGEMENT
Expression through Dance
Using key tenets from social-emotional learning and restorative justice practices, the ‘Expression through Dance’ curriculum guides students through expressing themselves positively through physicality.
Movement in
Your World
Led by Madison Ballet’s professional faculty, students in these 30-60 minute creative movement workshops explore fundamental concepts such as pathway, level, and weight, while improving creative problem solving and team skills.
EXPOSURE
OffStage &
Personal
From warm-up and class to rehearsal and performance, there’s much more to a dancer’s training than what finally appears onstage. Offstage & Personal programs showcase advanced and pre-professional students from the School of Madison Ballet in a fun and interactive ballet experience.
Petite
Dancer
Program
The innovative and engaging Petite Dancer program is designed to introduce little dancers to ballet while encouraging positivity and healthy practices. A curriculum that integrates social emotional learning into creative movement builds courage and confidence in all participants.
