Michaela King
Fredericksburg, VA
Originally from Virginia, Michaela King continued her dance training at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. As a company artist, she performed in numerous classical productions including La Bayadere, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Peter Pan, and in neoclassical works including Sandpaper Ballet and The Concert. King later joined Madison Ballet where she has had the honor of performing soloist and principal roles in both classical and contemporary repertoire. Highlights include Giselle, Birthday Variations, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Eight by Benny, along with dancing the role of Sugar Plum in The Nutcracker.
She has had the privilege of working with choreographers Stephanie Martinez and Yury Yanowsky, and of originating in featured roles with works by Richard Walters and Ja’ Malik. Her additional performance experience includes appearing as a guest artist in Serenade with the Suzanne Farrell Ballet and performing in the musical On the Town with Capitol City Theatre. Michaela is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Outside the studio she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three kitties- Charlie, Yodi, and Pete.
