Malachi Squires

Malachi Squires was trained at the Houston Ballet Academy and Marin Dance Theater.

Mauricio Vergara

Born in San Diego, CA and raised in Tijuana, Baja California, México, Mauricio Vergara began his training at Academia de Ballet Playas (Royal Academy of Dance) in Tijuana , and continued his studies at the Centro de Arte y Ballet in México City.

Abigail Mentzer

Abigail, a NYC native, trained at The School of American Ballet. Credits include; NYCB, Miami City Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet (Soloist title), Black Swan (film), Phantom of the Opera (tour).

Randy Herrera

Mr. Herrera began his studies at the Chicago academy for the arts in 1994-98 where he studied under the direction of Anna Paskevska, Claire Bataille.

Lucas Segovia

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Lucas Segovia started dancing at the age of 16. He has been a Principal Dancer with Ballet Argentino and danced with The Washington Ballet, Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company, and The Joffrey Ballet.

Janel Meindersee

Beginning her career at Oregon Ballet Theatre, Ms. Meindersee went on to dance with Nevada Ballet Theatre before joining Milwaukee Ballet in 2011.

Sara Schumann, Artistic Director

Sara Stewart Schumann was a choreographer, solo dancer, and ballet master with the Lyric Opera of Chicago from 1990 to 2006.  Her choreography for Lyric productions includes: La TraviataFaustMacbethManon LescautRigolettoAttilaI E Capuletti et Montechi, and Un ballo in Maschera.  

Gretchen Bourg, Managing Director

A native of Spooner, Wisconsin, Gretchen Bourg has spent her career in the dance world moving from dancer to teacher to administrative leader, serving as Madison Ballet’s Managing Director since 2018.  

Veronica Castillo, Education & Outreach Coordinator

Veronica Castillo is a native of El Paso, Texas and was raised in Iowa City, Iowa. She holds a BA in Art History and Non-Profit Organization from the University of Iowa and a Master's degree in Bilingual Education from Edgewood College.

Alissa Bratz

Alissa began her training with Eugene Ballet and Salem City Ballet in Oregon state before moving to Wisconsin in 1988.

Bri George

Bri George began her early training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary for 11 years.

Damien Johnson

Damien Johnson is a Dallas, Texas native and received his early training there from Kitty Carter, Dallas Metropolitan Ballet, and Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing Arts.

Kristen Hammer

Kristin Hammer began her training in Bloomfield Hills, MI, at Geiger Classical Ballet Academy and Michigan Classic Ballet Company. Her training continued at Boston Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and Cincinnati Ballet.

Michaela King

Michaela King has attended summer intensives at Chautauqua, Carolina Ballet and performed George Balanchine’s Serenade with Suzanne Farrell's company.

Sarah Melli

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Sarah began her ballet training at the Wisconsin School of Ballet with Tibor Zana. At 14, she received a full scholarship to the Milwaukee Ballet and was asked to stay and dance with the company.

Kelanie Murphy

Kelanie Murphy is from Crystal Lake, Illinois, where she began her formal dance training at Judith Svalander School of Ballet.

Shannon Quirk

A California native, Shannon Quirk began her training with Orange County Regional Ballet and continued her studies at University of California, Irvine earning a BFA in Dance Performance.
