Offstage & Personal
Through performance, conversation and group participation, Off-Stage and Personal: Lecture-Demonstrations stress the discipline and training as well as the relationship between dance and music that makes ballet so exciting to watch - and rewarding to perform.
Off-Stage and Personal: Lecture-Demonstrations showcases advanced and pre-professional students from the School of Madison Ballet in a fun and interactive ballet experience. The program exposes area school children to the physical requirements and training of ballet and takes place at various venues including schools throughout Dane County. Each lecture demonstration is tailored for each location to be age appropriate for children from kindergarten through high school and adults.
The Off-Stage and Personal: Lecture Demonstrations use a variety of music, performance selections from classical ballet repertoire, and ballet language. The program serves a two-fold purpose of providing a unique and entertaining educational experience for ares school children while providing valuable performing experiences for our pre-professional dancers.
